CALVINISM REFUTED: CLOSING ARGUMENTS
Calvinism basically says God commands men to accept Him but withholds the power to do so from man. Then he sends the man to the Lake of Fire for not obeying. That is not the God of the Bible. It is this kind of ridiculous thinking that we must conclude if you follow Calvinism through to its logical end. Our God expects us to believe in Him and we have the free will to do so or not. Based on our decisions, we will or will not go to the Lake of Fire. Was not the very thing that got man into trouble a free-will? If a free-will allows us to sin, why can it not be used for choosing Jesus?
If Calvinism is true and God is in complete control of all actions in the universe, then He would be the cause of all sin. Why would He send us to Hell if He did it? Of course, He is not the author of sin.
If we do not have a free-will, then words like “repent” and “obey” have absolutely no meaning. The Calvinist must a have real struggle when they reads these words in their Bible because they are seeing God tell them to do something that He is going to force them to do anyway, if they are lucky. If God does not want them to repent, then He will not make them repent so He can punish them because He is God. Do you see that such thinking is utter nonsense. We would be nothing but puppets in the hands of God. What is the point of this whole thing? No, God made us in His image so we as a free agent could commune with Him. We are free to love Him or reject Him and that is what makes us valuable to Him. We cannot love God without choice. If a man forces his wife to do something, is he really walking in love toward her? If she loves him freely, is that not of greater value? Do you really think that God making us do what He wants please Him?
If Calvinism were true, then God would be wholly responsible for sending man to Hell and man would have no part in his own damnation. God could have used his irresistible grace to save every single man but He did not. Man could only do what he was destined to do; he has no choice. So that would not only make God responsible for man's sin but also very evil. That is not the God of the Bible. Man is responsible for his own sins and his own destiny.
Calvinism totally contradicts the nature of God who loves all of His creation. A loving God would not predetermine His own creation to Hell without their say in the matter. That would not happen any more than a good father would predetermine to throw his newborn baby into a fiery furnace because he knew someday that the child would disobey him. If a natural human father would have enough sense not to do that, how much more would God?
The following point I got from this web site http://www.biblehelp.org/sumsel.htm and I liked it so much I wanted to add it here:.
