Colleen's Biography

Thomas Taylor Ministries, Thomas, Colleen, Taylor, Jesus, Bible, Word, God, Spirit

Colleen grew up the youngest of five children in a traveling military family. By the age of four, her family had moved from Texas to Virginia to Maine then settled in Germany for five years. Her family moved back to the U.S. and her Father retired from the military when Colleen was ten years old. After graduating from Winthrop High School, Colleen attended Thomas College in Waterville, Maine where she majored in Marketing Management with a minor in Retail Merchandising.

Colleen was raised in a faithful Catholic home where staying home from church on Sunday was not an option. She has always had a special relationship with God but terrible events her senior year in college left her realizing that she needed something more. In October of that year, a friend led her in a prayer accepting Jesus as Lord and in the baptism of the Holy Spirit. A great hunger for the Word was birthed inside on that day, and her life would never be the same. Even debilitating joint pain which had plagued her for several years disappeared.

After college, Colleen's job relocated her to New Hampshire then to Massachusetts. After prayer, she knew that God was asking her to move to Tennessee, which she did without a job or a place to live. God provided both immediately, and her spiritual growth really began.

She began attending a Southern Baptist church where she was water baptized and first experienced the joy of teaching God's Word to children in the city "projects". A couple years later, a friend invited her to a Four Square Church where she learned how to teach children's church and joined a small intercessory prayer group.

For three months, Colleen felt the Lord was leading her to a small church that she passed on her way to work. Finally in obedience, she visited the church that would become her home church and a place of great spiritual growth. Since it was a new church, the Children's Ministry was not yet established and Colleen was given the opportunity to pioneer and lead the Children's Ministry for three years.

During this time, Colleen attended Church on the Move's Children's Ministry training week in Tulsa, Oklahoma. In the fall of 1999, after years of prayer and encouragement from her Pastor, Colleen moved to Oklahoma to attend Rhema Bible Training Center.

While in Oklahoma, Colleen had the blessing of volunteering as secretary for a missions ministry called Catchfire! Ministries where she learned valuable ministry knowledge and gained priceless friends.

Colleen has had a strong calling to the mission field as well as to children for years. Not knowing how, but knowing God would merge the two desires of her heart, she graduated from Rhema Bible Training Center in 2001 with a focus in Children's Ministry. As mentioned before, she graduated at the same time as Thomas from Domata School of Missions in 2002. While in Tulsa, she worked as a lead teacher in Rhema Bible Church's Children's Ministry for two and a half years, volunteered in the "Clowns and Critters" ministry, and participated in several weekly prayer groups.

Together Thomas and Colleen plan on reaching the nations with the Gospel of Jesus Christ. They have a passion to teach and raise up indigenous ministers who can lead their nations with the Word of God. Ultimately they would like to start up Bible schools in many nations to train up ministers with the Message of love and faith through Jesus Christ.
