Thomas' Biography

Thomas was born in Norfolk, Virginia a famous naval city. He was born-again at the young age of around five or six, he does not remember exactly when. His family moved around various cities throughout the southeastern Virginia region. Thomas grew up going to church. As his family moved, he attended a variety of church denominations such as Baptist, Church of God, Assemblies of God, Reformed Presbyterian, and non-denominational.
In 1998 Thomas graduated from Old Dominion University in Norfolk, Virginia with a Bachelor of Science degree. His major was Biology, specifically Marine Biology, and his minor was Management. All his life he knew that God had called him to ministry. However, he backed away from the call to pursue a career in Marine Biology. In his last two years of attending college he made the decision to give up on his own goals and follow God's plan for his life. He sold out to God completely and devoted his life to becoming a minister of the Gospel. He prayed earnestly that God would open the door for him to attend what he calls, "The greatest Bible school or college on the planet!" He was referring to Rhema Bible Training Center in Broken Arrow, OK, a ministry under Kenneth Hagin.
God gave him the desire of his heart and two years later he was able to attend. Thomas' heart was to be a missionary and go to the nations of the world but God told him to follow the pastoral ministry courses that Rhema offered. Therefore, he did just that in obedience to God and he trusts this will play a part in his future of ministry. In 2002 He graduated from Rhema Bible Training Center.
While attending Rhema he worked at a call center that took phone calls and processed mail for large ministries. It is here where he met his wife Colleen. She had graduated from Rhema about five months prior to their meeting. When they met they knew that God had called them to be together. Colleen and Thomas together went on to attend the Domata School of Missions, under Mark Brazee Ministries, a school focused on getting the missionaries ready to go. They graduated the summer of 2002 and moved to Virginia to be married in October of 2002. They have two sons: Thomas Taylor III born June of 2004 and Benjamin Taylor born February of 2006. Thomas also became a student and instructor for the International College of Bible Theology where he earned his Bachelor of Theology degree. He is currently working on his Masters.
Thomas has worked in many helps capacities with a servant's heart. He has volunteered as a camera operator for the internationally televised program "Rhema Praise". He has also been a head sound engineer, has done web design for his home church, Open Door Church of Suffolk, and headed the ushers and greeters ministry there as well. He ministers weekly as a Bible teacher to men in jail under Southeastern Correctional Ministries. Thomas continues to teach courses for the International College of Bible Theology. He is also an itenerate minister teaching in churches and ministering around the world as an evangelist. Thomas has ministered in the U.S.A., the Dominican Republic, Mexico, and Kenya.
Thomas and Colleen began Thomas Taylor Ministries in September of 2004. Their ministry at heart is to preach and teach the Gospel to the nations according to Matthew 28:18-20. They travel throughout the world preaching, teaching, and demonstrating the Word of God, the Spirit of God, and the love of God. Thomas' ministry ranges from teaching the Bible to explosive revival meetings. To the churches of America they emphasize the importance of missions including encouraging the people to not just pray or give but to also go. |
